Nourishment Education Foundation
The nourishment Education Foundation (NEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1997 as an educational and community facility for furthering nourishment in people’s lives. Programs through the foundation explore, traditions, customs, and origin of food practices in diverse cultural populations. Through this study we seek to understand the effects of these practices and changes engendered over time on the health of the individual family and community. Our work is an effort to cultivate a new frontier in nutritional wisdom. The foundation provides a clearinghouse for nutritional medicine education, philosophy, and practices. NEF is the parent organization sponsoring: Nourishment Awareness Week; Nourishing the Sacred Feminine; Seven Bowls School of Nutrition, Nourishment, and Healing; Women’s New Moon Circles; Men’s Full Moon Circles; and community projects and classes.
The Nourishment Education Foundation (NEF) is committed to nourishing body, being, and spirit. We are dedicated to helping individuals discover what uniquely nourishes all aspects of their lives. We respect and honor the diversity and wisdom of all dietary and spiritual philosophies. Our intention is to integrate the art, science, and spirituality of food and nourishment and to bring joy, healing, harmony, community, and ritual into people’s lives. We seek to revitalize awareness of the rich cultural traditions that shaped human kind and to weave together a tapestry of health and well-being for present-day life.
It is our dream to see:
Eating as the foundation that supports wholeness,
Ritual drawing families together again,
Food honored simply – with gratitude,
Friends gathering together to nourish the heart, and
Responsible growing of food sustaining the fabric of the community once more.
